Green Graphite Electrode
Electrode breakages are common in electric arc furnaces (EAF), but broken electrodes do not have to be scrapped. Several reconditioning options are available.
By slightly shortening a graphite electrode and re-machining a new socket and thread, we can produce a fully usable new electrode.
We can also reduce the diameter of your used electrode pieces so they can serve other applications, for example as holding electrodes in a ladle furnace (LF).
Long used electrode tips, even tapered ones, can be turned into starter electrodes by machining a new socket and thread. These tips can be up to 8 metres long and represent a significant raw-material cost.
The result is a service that is both sustainable and cost-effective.
